Design office Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Nantucket House Antiques & Interior Design seeks a self-motivated individual to assist the principal in interior design project management, logistics, bookkeeping and customer care. This is a full-time position and a fantastic job opportunity with room for growth. Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Request quotes, assemble project budgets and draft client invoices

  • Place orders and communicate with vendors

  • Work closely with outside bookkeeper to ensure billing accuracy and timely payments

  • Manage design project timelines and order fulfillment

  • Send and receive shipments

  • Coordinate with moving and delivery companies to plan and execute installations

  • Work with shop manager to track inventory and expenses

  • Greet shop customers and perform general office duties, as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Year-round residency on Nantucket with stable housing arrangement

  • College degree and a minimum of 3 years professional experience is preferred

  • Key attributes include strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, excellence in problem solving and resourcefulness

  • Ability to take direction, prioritize tasks and work independently in a deadline driven environment

  • Must be detail-oriented and have exceptional follow-through

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Quickbooks

  • Ability to manage internet presence (website, Instagram, 1st Dibs)

  • Professional presentation, functional flexibility and a can-do attitude

Nantucket House Antiques & Interior Design is a residential interior design firm and retail antique shop located in downtown Nantucket, MA. This family-owned business was established in 1973 and the assistant will report directly to the owners, Michelle and Tucker Holland. We are committed to building lasting relationships and have had the good fortune to work with clients over the course of many years. We work hard to honor both the history of a house and a family in our designs, while creating a modern, functional home. Projects are based both on- and off-island and are highly customized and collaborative. Our work environment is friendly, busy and always inspirational.
